We have been running all over New York City and Fairfield County this past week! While we aren’t constantly traveling across the country or over to Europe we really are kind of always on the move at this point. Whether it’s spending our days finding new sources in Manhattan, heading up north for a day trip of antiquing, or town-hopping in Fairfield county catching up on meetings!
We love getting to explore so many different areas and honestly spend time in spaces that are new and exciting to us. We used to spend our days in the shop at The Summer House and now we have the flexibility to explore our area.
On Wednesday this week we had a jam packed day with meetings. We started the morning by driving to Stamford to restyle the booth at Antique and Artisan Gallery. Margaret picked me up at 9:45 and we started the day with a conference call with Toma Clark Haines, The Antiques Diva all the way from Venice, Italy. We then got to the gallery and decided to completely shift things around! We spent our Tuesday up in Brimfield Massachusetts at the Brimfield Antique Show opening day. We found some killer pieces and are so happy with how they tied in with our spring and summer inventory. We got a chance to catch up with the team down at The Antique and Artisan Gallery before we jetted off for a lunch meeting.
Next on the list was 1020 Post in Darien for a yummy lunch and catch up session with DJ Carey of CT Cottages and Gardens and Tori McBrien from McBrien Interiors. We hadn’t been able to sit down with these lovely ladies since our trip to Italy and it was really nice to see them. We talked about all of the travel we had been on since our last visit and got to hear about the events we were sad to have missed in Fairfield County over the last few months.
After lunch we took a few minutes to pop over to Kirby and Company. Kelly loves the shop, it is a merchandisers dream, and Margaret had literally never had the chance to stop by when they were open! She fell in love and ended up buying the most incredible gold palm floor lamp… While we were getting rung out, Jessica Gordan Ryan popped in. We got a chance to catch up with her before we left Darien for New Canaan.
Last meeting of the day was with our support system, Nurenu! Without whom we would be floundering in the world of website development, management and E-commerce. We had our usual meeting to catch up and discuss our editorial schedule, imagery for the website and the best way to get all of the new inventory that is coming our way onto the website for you all to shop! We really wouldn’t have this beautiful site you are browsing through at this moment without them so we are entirely grateful for all of their work.
We left this meeting and I headed into NYC on the train and Margaret went off back to Ridgefield. We touched base that night and both were so happy with our new work life, and despite spending our day running around from meeting to meeting we were both totally energized and excited about everything we have going on right now. We are so happy!!
