Happy New Year! I am so thrilled most of us got to experience a normal holiday season. Now that the New Year is here and we're past the Winter Solstice, I'm looking for ideas on how to bring some light and warmth into my home. Swedish pieces are painted for this exact reason - they reflect the light instead of absorbing it as mahogany does.
This pair of blue Gustavian style chest of drawers keep a space light and bright and would work equally well in a winter home or on the beach. It has lovely neoclassical details and a wonderful faux marble top. We styled it with a pair of newly made Italian brass lamps to add a very warm colored light. We then added some vintage books in a cloche, some pottery, and a stunning Iznik charger. While Iznik pottery and Gustavian aren't traditionally shown together, we think their colors work beautifully together. Iznik pottery happens to be a personal favorite!
We will be restarting our Instagram Live at 5 series on January 20th at 5:30. We are kicking it off with Kelly Maguire! Kelly currently freelances with a variety of New York-based AD 100 designers. Most recently, Kelly worked with BADG to install their VIP lounge at Design Miami in December during the Art Basel events.
News from the field
2022 is also bringing a lot of exciting announcements! I am overjoyed to be returning to show at The Compound at Round Top in March 2022! There is truly nothing like Round Top and I cannot wait to see some old clients, meet some new ones, and spend time with some of my good friends.
If you haven't been to Round Top feel free to reach out so I can fill you in on why it's the best show in the US!
I'm also thrilled to announce that I was the first dealer who was a guest on the award-winning Chairish Podcast. Host Michael Boodro invited leaders of the industry Chad Stark of Stark Industries, the CEO of Century Furniture, designer Frank Ponterio, and me to discuss the global supply challenges and how we are all adapting.
