We decided to take a quick trip down to Miami to check out the US Antique Shows Original Miami Beach Antique Show. Our good friend Toma Clarke Haines was hosting tours throughout the show, so we took the opportunity to explore a market that we are less familiar with. This also gave us a quick escape from the frigid temperatures of the Northeast over the last week!!
We had the opportunity to explore some of the greatest art deco collections in the USA currently as well as really acquaint ourselves with the jewelry market that is so heavily supported by this show. The different antiques shows, markets and events have distinct flavors and it’s all about finding the right environment for your unique collection of goods!
We flew in on a very early flight Monday morning, we hit the ground running and went straight to the Miami Convention center, luggage in hand… We checked in and immediately realized that there was no Coat Check because well… Miami. There are no coats to check. Jokes on us!!!
We quickly solved this problem by finding our dear friend Vera at the booth she was helping with at the show, Cookies Creations! Her dear friend allowed us to leave our luggage behind as we wandered the show. Vera even took a quick break to introduce us to some of her friends at their own booths. It was a fabulous time and such an amazing way to refresh both creatively and from the cold of the winter!
We had some festive dinners, we even ate (read- watched everyone else) paella! The energy of Miami is full of life and we had a blast with all of our friends and all of the new people we were lucky enough to meet!
