What a wild summer! I can’t believe it’s almost over but before it officially ends I wanted to share some of what I’ve been up to.
You might know my family has a house in Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard. We love it because it’s a short walk to town where we can go shopping, have dinner, and catch up with some friends in town.
SHOPPING
The original inspiration for me wanting to open a store is Portobello Road which is at 4 Dock St in Edgartown. @portobelloroadmv has everything from books to local artists to vintage finds. It’s a great place for gifts and it’s the kind of place where there is always something to be discovered. We like to make it so our own clients feel like there is always something new they hadn’t seen when they visit us at our showroom in The Antique and Artisan Gallery.
My first stop when I got back is always Sole, an amazing shoe store located at 37 Main Street in Edgartown. Whenever I talk or write about the Vineyard I always have to mention @shopatsole because they have such a gorgeous collection of shoes and accessories. They stock some good standards like Jack Rogers, but they also import some unknown brands from Europe that will stand out in a crowd. And the owner, Roni, could not be nicer or more fun to talk to!

DINE
Chesca's Restuarant in Edgartown is a good place for dinner if you’re not in a hurry. They have a great porch with rocking chairs where you can sit and have drinks while waiting for a table. The Spicy Margarita was smokey and yummy this year!
Hear me out, Chinese food doesn’t sound very beachy, but this is not your standard takeout place. Copper Wok in Vineyard Haven is some of the best Chinese food my family has ever had. I highly recommend the Sesame Chicken or their version of General Tso’s which is called General Gau’s. Trust me on this one!

EVENTS
Bad Martha Brewery is a fun place to go when you want to get out of the house and have a low key activity. The brewery has been around for a few years now and we like to go to sit outside and listen to some live music. They also have some lawn games like corn hole.
Beach Road Weekend is a new event that came to the island this summer. It was a three day festival in Vineyard Haven with an interesting lineup. My favorite band, Dispatch, was playing on Saturday night so a few of us decided to go. It was a lot of fun because it wasn’t too crowded at all and they had some great food and drink options. We would all definitely go back next summer!
I ended up going up to the Vineyard twice this summer, which I have never done before. It was a lot of fun being with family and enjoying the gorgeous weather. I’m glad the island is starting to do events that extend beyond the typical beach activities. I hope you can get up there before the season really winds down in October. And if not maybe I’ll see you at Beach Road Weekend next year!
