I still can’t believe it. When I was first invited to be part of the Chairish Emporium at Bergdorf Goodman, I had to read the email twice. Surely, they meant someone else? But no—this was real. A pinch-me moment if there ever was one.
For years, I’ve poured my heart into curating a collection of rare and storied antiques, but to see my pieces displayed in such an iconic setting? It’s beyond anything I ever imagined.
Now, here I am, on the seventh floor of Bergdorf’s, standing in the middle of a space that isn’t just a collection of antiques—it’s a love letter to everything I adore about them. Every single piece here has a story to tell, and I can only hope visitors feel that energy the moment they step inside this Emporium.
"It's a dream I never knew I had."
The Vision: A Cozy, Collected Escape
When I first started designing the space with Kelly McGuire, who handles all of our merchandising, and Manny, our shipping and logistics manager (and resident muscle), I knew it had to feel intimate. Since we were opening in February—a historically frigid month in New York—I wanted the space to exude warmth and comfort. I envisioned a setting that felt inviting, like a home that had always been there—lived-in, personal, and thoughtfully collected over time.
It all started with an incredible wallcovering from Aux Abris, which became my anchor. From there, I layered in soft textures, moody hues, and rich blues, incorporating opaline boxes that add the perfect glow. A huge shoutout to my mother for helping with these boxes—I was in Paris for Deco Off when they were scheduled to be delivered, and she graciously received, measured, and inspected every single one of them for me. Gosh, I have the BEST mom!
Every choice and detail in this pop-up was carefully considered—allowing the pieces to breathe while maintaining an effortless sense of beauty and cohesion.
A Love Letter to Patina (And Why I’m Obsessed)
Ah, patina—my one true love! There’s just something about that perfectly aged, timeworn finish that makes my heart skip a beat. Give me a chipped, sun-faded, beautifully imperfect antique over something pristine and brand-new any day.
I filled my space with stone and cast iron pieces, both of which wear their history so well. The natural wear and patina on stone make each piece feel like it has lived a thousand lives, and I just can’t get enough of it. And then there are the cast iron urns—oh, the layers of chipped paint! It’s like a little archaeological dig every time I look at them, peeling back years of history one layer at a time.
"Honestly, if loving patina is wrong, I don’t want to be right."
The Chairish Emporium at Bergdorf: A Collector’s Haven
Being part of the Chairish Emporium at Bergdorf Goodman is something I never could have imagined. The space brings together some of the best antique dealers in the country, and to be among them is truly an honor.
To walk into Bergdorf’s and see my collection displayed here? Surreal. It’s one thing to collect and curate, but to do it in a setting like this is something I will CHAIRISH forever.
Our collection will be on display through May 5th. If you’re in New York, please come visit! The Chairish Emporium is on the seventh floor. Feel the textures, take in the history, and maybe—just maybe—you’ll find that one perfect piece that feels like it was meant just for you.
For those who can’t make it to our pop-up inside Bergdorf, let me take you on an exclusive tour of our space—right from where you are!
