English Early 19th C. Brass Mortar and Pestle

This early 20th-century mortar and pestle is made of brass with an honest patina. Both the mortar and pestle are traditional in style. The mortar has a bell-shaped body with a rounded base this style is known for, and the pestle has one round end. Brass mortar and pestles were used for both food and apothecary. This makes a lovely decorative piece on a bookshelf, kitchen, or bar and looks even better as a collection with similar mortar and pestles.
